TRUST

Karl Bradley ·
Funny thing about trust...we have to give it away to get it. Every day we're awarding or taking away our trust. When you think about it, the same people who were NOT trusted 20 years ago still don't have our trust. The people we trusted 20 years ago still have our trust. So, there's enough trust to go around. The goal should be to intelligently give & refuse trust to the trustworthy & be vulnerable enough to provide our own behavioral evidence we're trustworthy. Here are some...

OVERWHELMED...

Karl Bradley ·
When things get tight it seems we always are expected to do more with less...not less with less. This can lead to that uncomfortable feeling of being overwhelmed. While this one post won't be able to address the cause here are a couple things to help deal with the symptoms... JUST START The start is what stops most people. Just pick something & accomplish it. Whether you start with something you don't care for or something you love, just getting it checked off the list will help create...

Handful to Ponder

Karl Bradley ·
It's not about you It's all about you It's about what you're doing for others & how your intentions provide the evidence of your authentic intentions. Realizing & doing them is leadership to me. Ugh...Bad drivers!

Karl Bradley ·
It happens every day... You're driving on the highway and inevitably there's someone driving crazy. Going faster than everyone. The cost of a ticket isn't a deterrent. Rules don't apply to them. They're dodging in & out of the lanes like it's the Indianapolis 500! This has a major effect on you and those around you. You put on the brakes. You change lanes. Your pulse goes up. You have passengers double check their seatbelts. You're on high alert! The dialogue in your head might look...

He doesn't even own a dog. Our neighbor knows attitude is everything. He always picks a good one. Our neighbor goes to the local grocery store every Saturday morning. He knows all the bakery employees. He buys donuts for all the kids who are shopping with their parents. Every one...without exception. Our neighbor...

Resilience in action...

Karl Bradley ·
Resilience is defined as: " the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties; toughness. " Our resilience has been challenged big time over the course of this pandemic. How have you done? What have you done that worked? Honestly, it's been hard at times for our family. It's in what we did to get through together that matters. Chances are some of these are on your list! They celebrate other people's success They accept full responsibility for their past behavior They invest their energy in...

Thanks for these tips! We're working on a grant proposal to work with Coop Extension professionals to train in the use of improvisation tools and techniques ("yes...and", focussed listening, "accepting the offer") for communication. These improv skills offer a way to increase confidence and comfort when having to enter "difficult" stress and mental health conversations with farmers and clients. Your list for "resilience" is right in line with what we are focussed on...
