Five Extension Project Teams Receive Seed-Funding Grants from Impact Collaborative Summit
Twenty-five teams representing twenty-six Cooperative Extension institutions attended the first Virtual Impact Collaborative Summit on October 13th and 14th. Using technology – including Zoom and virtual whiteboards – participants were connected with tools, resources, coaches, facilitators, and Key Informants in a customized experience designed to catalyze their work. Know that CDC also has a toolkit for essential works (think ag and food workers) is also important as well as we collaborate with our partners in Ag, Forestry, Sea Grant, and such. We're working on a grant proposal to work with Coop Extension professionals to train in the use of improvisation tools and techniques ("yes...and", focussed listening, "accepting the offer") for communication. These improv skills offer a way to increase confidence and comfort when having to enter "difficult" stress and mental health conversations with farmers and clients. "Culture" has become such a buzz word surrounding the workplace. People expect to see something on the company's website about it. They ask current employees about it. They ask about it in interviews. The fact is, it's a big deal. It might be THE big deal of any organization.
