Ask Extension Experts

This is a group of Extension professionals and master volunteers who serve as "experts" in eXtension's "Ask Extension" system. This group will be used as a means of posting news about Ask Extension, as well as a way for the experts to share information with each other. It is a forum meant to supplement the information available at https://askhelp.extension.org.

Hey folks! We rolled out a number of updates yesterday. Please feel free to test these out and let us know if you have questions or find any issues. We deployed the initial rollout of the Advanced Search feature (Advanced button under the search box) that many of you have requested.

*Added warning to the upload-photo section of the question submission page
*Fixed a problem in the inline-attachments plugin that didn't allow images to open in a new tab
*Standardized date formats in the reporting dashboard
*Removed the 'ask a new question' link on the mobile expert workflow
*Reworked advanced search
*Fixed a permissions issue with question exports
*Added additional form validation to expert creation
*Fixed a bug that caused problems with navigation after creating a new institution
*Experts can now unlock any (suitable) question
*Experts can now post internal notes without a lock/internal notes don't cause a lock
*Potentially a fix to notifications with regards to internal notes
*The question form doesn't reload now when a question asker changes the group or location
*Timezone issues with the FAQs have been straightened out
*Experts can now see the number of questions other experts have assigned when going to reassign a ticket
*Tags are now validated before being put into the DB

About the Extension Foundation

The Extension Foundation was formed in 2006 by Extension Directors and Administrators. Today, the Foundation partners with Cooperative Extension through liaison roles and a formal plan of work with the Extension Committee on Organization and Policy (ECOP) to increase system capacity while providing programmatic services, and helping Extension programs scale and investigate new methods and models for implementing programs. The Foundation provides professional development to Cooperative Extension professionals and offers exclusive services to its members. In 2020 and 2021, the Extension Foundation has awarded 85% of its direct funding back to the Cooperative Extension System, 100% of funds are used to support Cooperative Extension initiatives.
