Be Aware!

Leadership is influence. Influence is felt by others in our behaviors. These behaviors provide evidence of our intentions. Be aware: It's our intentions we betray first followed by our behavior. When tolerated, these bad behaviors have devastating effects on those we spend the most time with; our professional colleagues.

There are many studies that chronicle the impact of poor leadership, the resulting toxic environment it creates, and the negative effects on our health. Just guessing it's not our intention to harm others for our own gain. If this is true, the responsibility isn't with any single person it's on all of us to have the courage to make it better. For inspiration to improve, here are some reminders...

Leadership development is about increasing our awareness of how our behaviors impact others. Are they having a positive or negative effect? None of us are perfect. We won't always have the most positive impact we'd like to have. Staying true to our core values and beliefs will help us keep in touch with our real intentions and increase the likelihood of moving closer to the person we really want to be.

For our success, others must also be successful. By being respectful & honest with others we achieve the same for ourselves. Creating an environment where everyone can be effective and productive is in everyone's job description. Be aware and keep leading, we need you!
