Resources for Advancing Racial Equity in Rural Communities

Here is a new set of resources from ChangeLab Solutions that you may find useful.

"In rural communities across the United States, increasing meaningful participation in the policymaking process for Black, Indigenous, and other people of color (BIPOC) while decreasing place, race, and class divides is essential to achieving prosperity.

Adding to our suite of resources for increasing racial justice and equitable economic development in rural America, we have released two new publications for local and state policymakers, community leaders, and changemakers.

Advancing Racial Equity in Rural Communities: Legal & Policy Strategies to Support Opportunity, Health & Justice

Created in partnership with The Praxis Project, this strategy brief will help state and local policymakers better understand how to address structural inequities in rural communities. The brief offers legal and policy strategies that have the highest potential to meaningfully affect BIPOC communities experiencing persistent poverty in rural places.

State & Local Policies with Potential to Advance Racial Equity & Rural Prosperity

This menu of policy options is a conversation starter that communities can use to think through policy actions that center BIPOC communities, promote equitable development, and address structural discrimination."
