The rate (speed) at which a monitor's image changes is known as the refresh rate (refreshes). The image can update more frequently per second and will appear smoother if the refresh rate is higher. In hertz, this rate of change per second is expressed (Hz). There are various Refresh rate checkers available to check monitor refresh rate.
