Earlier this year, eXtension announced the transition of Ask an Expert (ask.extension.org) to a new platform we are calling Ask Extension (ask2.extension.org). The migration of questions and accounts began in September and this process will be complete February 1, 2021.
What will happen February 1?
All question submissions will switch to Ask Extension. The web form that allows people to submit questions to Ask an Expert will be shut down. To continue to receive and answer questions, you must have claimed your account in Ask Extension and made yourself available to receive questions by removing the vacation flag in your personal profile.
We are here to help!
We are holding a Zoom Webinar at 2:00 pm EST December 2 where we will discuss the transition and answer any questions you have about it.

Training
We have created a series of screencasts to walk you through the most common tasks in the system. You can find those here: https://askhelp.extension.org/how-to/.
Frequently asked questions
We have created a list of frequently asked questions to help answer the most common questions we have received about the new system. You can find those here: https://askhelp.extension.org/...tly-asked-questions/.
Again, we want to emphasize that after February 1, Ask an Expert will no longer receive questions from the public; all such questions will be directed to Ask Extension. So you will only be able to answer those questions if you have claimed your expert account in Ask Extension. However, you need not wait until February 1. If your expert group would like to begin receiving questions in Ask Extension before February 1, it is simply a matter of activating your group in Ask Extension and deactivating it in Ask an Expert. You will still be able to access Ask an Expert to look up recent questions and answers and pull reports you might need for several more months.
We sincerely want to thank all of our Experts for their contributions to the system in the last 14 years. Whether you plan to continue working with us in the new system or plan to let your account lapse, eXtension thanks you for your time and service. You may claim your account at any time.
