Resources from Program Center Stage Feature- Utah's Remote Online Initiative Program

In the August Program Center Stage session titled "Empowering Rural Communities Through Remote Work: An Introduction to Utah's Remote Online Initiative Program," the Utah State Extension team taught us about their program that's making a significant impact in Utah's rural community.

The Remote Online Initiative Program is a new Utah State Extension program that helps rural communities prepare for the future by providing specialized #RemoteWork training and career coaching. Dr. Paul Hill and his team members Dom Bria and Abbey Bean led the session. The team discusses the impacts and benefits of remote work and how assisting rural citizens in obtaining remote jobs benefits the community, family, and individuals. The Rural Online Initiative educates, coaches, and mentors citizens of the rural workforce to help them find remote jobs or online business opportunities, resulting in various positive outcomes such as increased rural viability, a stronger tax base, and family empowerment.

This session encourages us to imagine a vibrant future for rural communities, where residents are not restricted by geography and can obtain well-paying remote jobs through reliable internet connectivity.

Watch the session recording and take a look at the resources if you are interested in what this program could offer the people in your state or community!
