Last week, I posted about the Ins & Outs of the Learn Calendar on Connect Extension, the different things that happen behind the scenes when you publish an event to it, and how eXtension helps to market those events for you. Another question I often receive is where can I access the recording of a recent event?
The short answer: for eXtension-hosted events, we update the calendar items with the recordings. I typically remove the “Register Here” button and replace it with “Recording Available Here.” Here is an example of what that looks like. To get to the calendar to find past events, just click Learn in the main navigation.
We encourage anyone from across Cooperative Extension that posts to the Learn Calendar to also share the recordings on Connect Extension when their event is over. They can do that by clicking on Learn in the main navigation and clicking on their event. On the right hand side, they can click Manage Event and then Edit Event. From there, they can add a link to the recording and update their listing.
If you still don’t see what you’re looking for, I suggest leaving a comment on the calendar event and ask if the individual that posted it can update the listing with the recording.
Using the Advanced Search Feature
Maybe you forgot what date an event was or the title of it, or maybe you just want to explore the nearly 4000 past events on the Learn Calendar (many have recordings!). It’s really easy to search for past events; between tags, titles, keywords, etc.. you should be able to find what you’re looking for.
This is a great time to use the Advanced Search feature in Connect Extension that you can find in the navigation bar by hovering over the magnifying glass and clicking “Advanced Search.” From there, I recommend choosing Learn instead of Everything at the top of the search box and use whichever search field or combination of search fields you’d like to use.
