Viewing Volunteer and Workplace Management through Generational Lenses

Presented by Marilyn K. Lesmeister, Associate Professor and Carolyn Ashton, Associate Professor, Oregon State University Extension 4-H Youth Development.

This webinar is designed for those who work with volunteers who are beginning to explore the diverse characteristics among groups of volunteers. Participants will discuss the definition of “generational cohort” and gain a better understanding of preferences of the volunteers in each generation. We will examine the professional challenges we need to address as volunteer program managers (or anyone has a workplace that is multi-generational), and apply effective strategies for marketing, training, and recognizing volunteers in each generation.

This webinar is sponsored and hosted by the National Association of Extension Program and Staff Development Professionals (NAEPSDP). For more information please visit the NAEPSDP website.

The session will begin on time, so please try to log on at least 5 to 10 minutes prior to the start time. The session will last 1 ½ hours.

Participants do not have to pre-register. You will just need to go to the Adobe Connect link and sign in as a guest. When you sign in, please type your full name (first and last name) and your state.
  • This webinar will be using Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP).  If you have a headset/mic, please feel free to use it. It will provide you with the best quality VoIP. Before you get started, please Run the Audio Setup Wizard.
