While trees provide significant benefits to our homes and communities, they may also become liabilities when they fall or break apart, causing property damage, personal injuries, and power outages. Although some tree failures are unpredictable and cannot be prevented, others can be detected with regular tree inspections and remediated. Participants will learn how to recognize 7 of the most common structural tree defects that often result in failures. Extension personnel will be prepared to teach tree owners how to conduct basic inspections.
