Cooperative Extension Time to Adoption Horizon: One Year or Less

Makerspaces, one of the technologies included in the report with an expected adoption horizon of One Year or Less, will be featured in this web meeting.

Paul Hill, Utah State and Mark Light, Ohio State, have worked with Makerspaces in different ways. Panelists will share their extension programming in this area and begin a discussion around how Cooperative Extension can embrace the innovations. Come with your questions and ideas for the conversation. Paul Hill has taken the lead in the Makers community.

eXtension has been working with the New Media Consortium and the ECOP Innovation Task Force to create a Horizon Report for Cooperative Extension System to Prepare for the Future.

Additional webinars featuring Extension Professionals working with some of the horizon technologies listed in the report will be held this fall. Prepare to be excited and inspired by the ways technology can open new worlds in Extension programming!

About the Extension Foundation

The Extension Foundation was formed in 2006 by Extension Directors and Administrators. Today, the Foundation partners with Cooperative Extension through liaison roles and a formal plan of work with the Extension Committee on Organization and Policy (ECOP) to increase system capacity while providing programmatic services, and helping Extension programs scale and investigate new methods and models for implementing programs. The Foundation provides professional development to Cooperative Extension professionals and offers exclusive services to its members. In 2020 and 2021, the Extension Foundation has awarded 85% of its direct funding back to the Cooperative Extension System, 100% of funds are used to support Cooperative Extension initiatives.

This technology is supported in part by New Technologies for Ag Extension (funding opportunity no.
