Ask an Expert Orientation

Wondering how to get started answering Ask an Expert questions? Or wanting to have a tour of the newer navigation and features of Ask an Expert (AaE) 2.0?

This introductory session on Ask an Expert will teach you everything you need to know to get up and started answering people's questions that come into the eXtension Ask an Expert system. We'll start by doing an overview of the entire system so you get a feel for how it all works, and how answered questions are shared with the public. Then we’ll walk you through setting your location and your expertise preferences so you get just those questions you’re uniquely qualified to answer. Answering a practice question will show you that process. Finally, we'll look at all of the nifty reporting options so you can get a quick snapshot of all of your work within the system.

If you've been wondering how to get started with Ask an Expert this sessions is for you. OR if you're still feeling unfamiliar with the navigation and features of AaE 2.0, join us! Give us an hour and we'll get you well on your way to becoming an Ask an Expert extraordinaire.

About the Extension Foundation

The Extension Foundation was formed in 2006 by Extension Directors and Administrators. Today, the Foundation partners with Cooperative Extension through liaison roles and a formal plan of work with the Extension Committee on Organization and Policy (ECOP) to increase system capacity while providing programmatic services, and helping Extension programs scale and investigate new methods and models for implementing programs. The Foundation provides professional development to Cooperative Extension professionals and offers exclusive services to its members. In 2020 and 2021, the Extension Foundation has awarded 85% of its direct funding back to the Cooperative Extension System, 100% of funds are used to support Cooperative Extension initiatives.
