The first public meeting of the Biden-Harris Administration’s President’s Council on Sports, Fitness & Nutrition will be held on June 27, 2023, from 1:30 pm to 5:00 pm ET, at the Hubert H. Humphrey building in Washington, DC. The meeting will also be viewable via livestream on hhs.gov/live.
The focus of this inaugural meeting will be for the new Council members, who were nominated to serve on the Council by President Biden in March, to discuss priorities for the remainder of the Council’s term. The Council’s Co-chairs, José Andrés and Elena Delle Donne, were appointed by President Biden and sworn in last year.
The President’s Council on Sports, Fitness & Nutrition is a federal advisory committee that aims to engage, educate, and empower all Americans to adopt a healthy lifestyle that includes regular physical activity and good nutrition. President Biden renewed the Council by Executive Order 14048, which also expanded the Council’s mission to include a focus on mental health as it relates to fitness and nutrition.
Media and members of the public interested in attending can register to attend the meeting virtually or in person.
