Please join us on Monday, December 16, 2024, at 12:30 pm for the third webinar of our Consumer Food Waste Webinar series. This series is part of a USDA grant that Ohio State University and Rutgers Cooperative Extension received to create a national consumer food waste community of practice. This monthly webinar series showcases the efforts of Extension groups, university researchers, and leaders in the food and sustainability industry who are making significant strides in combating consumer food waste.
This month, we invite you to join us as we feature Hélène Lanctuit, CEO of Share My Meals, and Heather Latino, attorney and Clinical Instructor from Harvard Law School’s Food Law & Policy Clinic. Across the country, advocates and stakeholders are promoting policies aimed at tackling food waste and increasing the amount of surplus, safe, edible food that is distributed to individuals experiencing food insecurity. Hélène Lanctuit will share how her organization recovers an average of 10,000 meals per month and leads the Meal Recovery Coalition of NJ. Heather Latino will highlight food waste policy resources developed by the Harvard Law School Food Law and Policy Clinic and the Zero Food Waste Coalition.
