Job Announcement: Northeast Regional Center for Rural Development (NERCRD)

The Northeast Regional Center for Rural Development (NERCRD) at The Pennsylvania State University is seeking applications for a limited-term, Non-Tenure Track Assistant Research Professor/Associate Director position. The full job description is available here.

The position involves an academic appointment at the Assistant Research Professor level on a non-tenure track basis and is renewable annually conditional on funding, with a 25% Research and 75% Extension split.

The individual will lead the Center’s outreach oriented activities in consultation with the Director by (1) fostering relationships among Northeast land grant universities and rural development partners; (2) identifying and responding to opportunities for cross-state collaborations and sharing of programs; (3) developing and implementing educational programs, including translating scientific findings into practice; (4) and securing grants and conducting nationally recognized research consistent with the Center’s mission.

About the Extension Foundation

The Extension Foundation was formed in 2006 by Extension Directors and Administrators. Today, the Foundation partners with Cooperative Extension through liaison roles and a formal plan of work with the Extension Committee on Organization and Policy (ECOP) to increase system capacity while providing programmatic services, and helping Extension programs scale and investigate new methods and models for implementing programs. The Foundation provides professional development to Cooperative Extension professionals and offers exclusive services to its members.
