In our U.S. Air Force, there are Officers & Enlisted. Officers have ranks of 2nd Lieutenant to 4-Star General. Enlisted have ranks of Airman to Chief Master Sergeant. There is one special position in the Enlisted ranks that only 19 people have held. It's the Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force (CMSAF) position.
Had the opportunity a few years ago to hear CMSAF #5, Robert Gaylor speak. Here's the video from his presentation at TEDx Scott Air Force Base:
A Motto For Life: Robert Gaylor
In his short article, I like hot french fries on the General Leadership site, Chief Gaylor goes into more detail on...
- High tech vs High touch
- Who you hire matters
- Getting speed & service for FREE
What Chief Gaylor is describing is identifying & utilizing some guiding principles of leadership. This will emerge from your core values & beliefs. It will develop into your personal leadership philosophy. This is super powerful for your personal & professional lives. Check out what Drew Dudley says about the power of a personal leadership philosophy.
Nobody likes cold, soggy fries...hot fries are the best. Do you deliver hot fries?
