Office of Energy Efficiency & Renewable Energy, Renewable Enegery Siting through Technical Engagement and Planning

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) opened submissions for a $10 million funding and technical assistance program that supports the creation of new, or the expansion of existing, state-based programs or initiatives that improve renewable energy siting processes at the state and local levels. DOE anticipates awarding approximately five to seven state-based collaboratives up to $2 million each. Insect, Weed, Disease Management Research and Collaboration

The North Central Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Center will fund Critical Issue research and Working Group collaborative projects for 2024. Applications must focus on an aspect of integrated pest management, which may include insects, weeds or diseases. The maximum funding amount for each award is $30,000. The Center has approximately $300,000 to distribute and expects to fund about 10 projects.

This will fund a new $575 million competitive grant program that will invest in holistic, collaborative approaches to coastal resilience at regional scales. Through a new competition and technical assistance, NOAA will invest ~ $60 million to meet the emerging and existing needs of employers while helping workers find high quality jobs by investing in workforce training focused on climate resilience concepts, principles, and techniques and implementation, and ensuring direct hire or promotion into jobs related to climate resilience with an emphasis on training and hiring in place, especially to benefit underserved communities.

The HBCU grant program exists to repair historic structures on campuses of Historically Black Colleges and Universities that are listed or eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places either individually or as contributing to a National Register or National Historic Landmark historic district. Projects must meet major program selection criteria and all work must meet the Secretary of the Interiorβs Standards and Guidelines for Archeology and Historic Preservation.
