  • HUD, Lead and Healthy Homes Technical Studies (LHHTS) Grant Program

    • Due: October 30, 2023
      HUD is funding studies to improve knowledge of housing-related health and safety hazards and to improve or develop new hazard assessment and control methods, with a focus on lead and other key residential health and safety hazards.

  • USDA Forest Service - GLRI Forest Restoration 2023

    • Due: October 23, 2023

      The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Forest Service will support projects in the Great Lakes basin that implement strategic, priority actions.

  • NRCS, Conservation Innovation Grants (CIG) Classic Program

    • Due: October 30, 2023
      NRCS is announcing the availability of up to $15 million in CIG funding to stimulate the development and adoption of innovative conservation approaches and technologies in conjunction with agricultural production.

  • Office of Energy Efficiency & Renewable Energy, Renewable Enegery Siting through Technical Engagement and Planning

    Due: November 3, 2023
    The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) opened submissions for a $10 million funding and technical assistance program that supports the creation of new, or the expansion of existing, state-based programs or initiatives that improve renewable energy siting processes at the state and local levels. DOE anticipates awarding approximately five to seven state-based collaboratives up to $2 million each. Collaboratives will also benefit from tailored technical assistance and peer-learning opportunities.

  • Dept. Health and Human Services, National Rural Health Policy, Community, and Collaboration Program

    • Due: November 30, 2023
      The purpose of this program is to identify, engage, educate, and collaborate with rural stakeholders on national rural health policy issues and promising practices to improve health care in rural areas nationwide.

  • EPA, Innovative Water Infrastructure Workforce Development Grant Program

    • Due: November 17, 2023
      Through this grant program, EPA is soliciting applications to assist in the development and utilization of innovative activities relating to workforce development and career opportunities in the water utility sector.

  • Insect, Weed, Disease Management Research and Collaboration

    Due: November 19, 2023
    The North Central Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Center will fund Critical Issue research and Working Group collaborative projects for 2024. Applications must focus on an aspect of integrated pest management, which may include insects, weeds or diseases. The maximum funding amount for each award is $30,000. The Center has approximately $300,000 to distribute and expects to fund about 10 projects.

  • NOAA, Transformational Habitat Restoration and Coastal Resilience Grants Under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and Inflation Reduction Act

    • Due: November 17, 2023
      The principal objective of this solicitation is to support transformational habitat restoration projects that restore marine, estuarine, coastal, or Great Lakes ecosystems, using approaches that enhance community and ecosystem resilience to climate hazards.

  • NOAA, Climate Resilience Regional Challenge

    • Letters of Intent due: November 30, 2023
    • Full Proposals due: February 13, 2024
      This will fund a new $575 million competitive grant program that will invest in holistic, collaborative approaches to coastal resilience at regional scales. Funds will support climate resilience and adaptation actions that are appropriate to the plan, place, and people, and supported by NOAA technical assistance.

  • NOAA - Climate Ready Workforce

    • Letters of Intent due: November 30, 2023
    • Full Proposals due: February 13, 2024

      Through a new competition and technical assistance, NOAA will invest ~ $60 million to meet the emerging and existing needs of employers while helping workers find high quality jobs by investing in workforce training focused on climate resilience concepts, principles, and techniques and implementation, and ensuring direct hire or promotion into jobs related to climate resilience with an emphasis on training and hiring in place, especially to benefit underserved communities.

  • NOAA, Coastal Habitat Restoration and Resilience Grants for Tribes and Underserved Communities

    • Due: December 19, 2023
      The principal objective of this funding opportunity is to support opportunities for tribes, and/or tribal entities, and underserved communities to meaningfully engage in coastal habitat restoration activities.

  • NOAA, 2024 Effects of Sea Level Rise

    • Due: January 24, 2024
      NOAA/NOS/National Centers for Coastal Ocean Science (NCCOS)/Competitive Research Program (CRP) [formerly Center for Sponsored Coastal Ocean Research/Coastal Ocean Program] is soliciting proposals for the Effects of Sea Level Rise (ESLR) program to improve adaptation and planning in response to regional and local effects of sea level rise (SLR) and coastal inundation.

  • NOAA, Climate Program Office FY24 NIDIS Tribal Drought Resilience with Inflation Reduction Act Support

    • Due: February 15, 2024
      Awards made under this opportunity will enable tribal nations to address current and future drought and climate risk on tribal lands across the West by improving decision support and building drought resilience in a changing climate as authorized by the Inflation Reduction Act, P.L. 117-169, Section 40001.

  • National Park Service, FY2023 Historic Preservation Fund - Historically Black Colleges and Universities Grants

    Due: January 17, 2024
    The HBCU grant program exists to repair historic structures on campuses of Historically Black Colleges and Universities that are listed or eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places either individually or as contributing to a National Register or National Historic Landmark historic district. Projects must meet major program selection criteria and all work must meet the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards and Guidelines for Archeology and Historic Preservation.  Projects may also fund survey, nomination, and preservation planning for historic HBCU campuses.

About the Extension Foundation

The Extension Foundation was formed in 2006 by Extension Directors and Administrators. Today, the Foundation partners with Cooperative Extension through liaison roles and a formal plan of work with the Extension Committee on Organization and Policy (ECOP) to increase system capacity while providing programmatic services, and helping Extension programs scale and investigate new methods and models for implementing programs. The Foundation provides professional development to Cooperative Extension professionals and offers exclusive services to its members. In 2020 and 2021, the Extension Foundation has awarded 85% of its direct funding back to the Cooperative Extension System, 100% of funds are used to support Cooperative Extension initiatives.
