The OneOp Family Development team's Sexual Behavior of Children & Youth Series began in 2019 with our Anchored podcast episode, “A Discussion with Dr. Gregory Leskin about Problematic Sexual Behavior in Children and Youth.” Since then, we have hosted 13 amazing webinars featuring top presenters and professionals in the field of assessing and treating problematic sexual behavior of children and youth. Many of our presenters also work directly with military families on bases and installations worldwide in providing support and therapy for PSB-CY issues.
PSB-CY Courses Intro
To further the learning that has begun with this series, we are taking this programming one step further. We are happy to announce the launch of our OneOp Family Development PSB-CY Clinical Assessment and Treatment Overview Courses. These four asynchronous courses will launch on October 13th, 2022!
The PSB-CY Clinical Assessment and Treatment Overview Courses feature course authors from the National Center on the Sexual Behavior of Youth (NCSBY). Many of our SBCY Series webinar presenters have returned to author the courses in this series. The courses will focus on the application of clinical assessment, responding to, and treating PSB-CY. Each of these four courses has been designed by NCSBY experts who work in the field of PSB-CY with military families. The courses are self-paced and are packed with valuable information, reflective activities, and resources for service providers.
To kick off this amazing series of courses, we recently released our latest Anchored podcast episode, “An Introduction to Problematic Sexual Behavior in Children and Youth Courses| Anchored Episode 26.” In this episode, we talked with Dr. Jane Silovsky, Director of the National Center on the Sexual Behavior of Youth (NCSBY), and Mary “Tib” Campise, with the Family Advocacy Program (FAP) Office of Military Family Readiness Policy. They shared with us the history behind the collaboration between FAP, NCSBY, and OneOp Family Development that got the SBCY started and how the formulation of the PSB-CY Courses took shape.
We hope you are excited as we are for the PSB-CY Clinical Assessment and Treatment Overview Courses launch and the opportunity for a more in-depth dive into working with military families in a therapeutic setting on PSB-CY issues. Continuing education credits and contact hours are available from UT Social Work, CCMC, NCFR, and ONA, including certificates of completion.
