Welcome to Connect Extension & Getting Started

Aaron Weibe ·
Welcome to Connect Extension. This is the main page that is viewable by anyone. To create posts, add content, or access groups - you will need to register. If you want to post content for anyone to see, this is the place to do it. The calendar on this main page is the next generation of eXtension's "Learn" system. There are a number of options for posting - including blogs, calendar events, and more. If you want to get more specific and post to only a certain audience - try visiting the...

I see they just posted an image and the connection info is in the lower left-hand corner. It is hard to see. I've gone ahead and updated their listing by putting the link in the body of the calendar post.

Hello Dhruti! Hope you are doing well! This looks great but do you realize May 25 is Memorial Day? Without having my office calendar in front of me it's easy for me to lose track of such things! TERRI

@Erin Knowles - they are posted on the calendar in the Extension Response & Resources for Extension Professionals Working Online group. Here is a direct link to that calendar item - https://connect.extension.org/...ension-social-cafe-1 They are every Thursday, same time and place, until April 30th. The connection details are in the post above and in the calendar item.

Re: CommuniTree: A model for engaging communities in tree planting and maintenance projects

Kathleen Foley ·
Thank you. I was able to finally sleuth it out. I had already registered and received numerous reminders, but nowhere in those reminders or calendar entries or the notification bulletin description did it have a join now button. I hate to know how many couldn’t join due to the cumbersome joining system.

Re: eXtension Social Café (Members Only)

Aaron Weibe ·
You can find past events on the calendar where these are posted. That's here . That lives in the E xtension Response and Resources for Extension Professionals Working Online group. Every group is it's own little world within Connect Extension. I don't think there was a recording available for the first couple Social Cafe's - but I do see the recording available for the 9th. I'll work with @Rose Hayden-Smith to see if there's other recordings we need to update those calendar items with.

Re: How To Host Engaging Webinars: Advanced Topics (eXtension Members Only)

Aaron Weibe ·
Hi Anne, I just looked at the registration list and it does not appear that you actually registered for this event. RSVPing here in Connect Extension is not the same as completing the registration. At the top of this calendar post, it says " eXtension Foundation Members can register for this event here in the Impact Collaborative group..." That link takes you to the registration page. Since you are from an eXtension member institution, you would have been able to access that and register.

eXtension Migrates Learn Platform to Connect Extension

Aaron Weibe ·
Over the past few years, the eXtension Foundation has been migrating its custom technology platforms to commercial tools. This has resulted in providing Cooperative Extension professionals with better technology solutions that are consistent with industry standards and provides greater flexibility, usability, and marketability. To date, the Articles publishing platform (articles.extension.org) and its companion content-authoring platform Create (create.extension.org) where former eXtension...

How To Adjust Your Notification Settings in Connect Extension

Aaron Weibe ·
I had a couple of people recently ask about adjusting their email notification preferences for Connect Extension, so I thought I'd share this with everyone! You have control over your own settings - how many or how few notifications you wish to receive. 1. On the navigation bar, hover over your name and choose Notifications from the drop-down menu. 2. You'll come to the Notification Settings screen, where you'll see three tabs: Settings, Follows, and Group Follows . On the Settings tab, you...

It is truly frustrating how un-intuitive it is to attend your events. Why can you not send out a calendar item when I register that contains a link to the event? I feel very comfortable attending webinars, but can never make yours work.

The Ins and Outs of the Learn Calendar on Connect Extension

Aaron Weibe ·
I’ve received a number of GREAT questions about the Learn calendar here on Connect Extension. What is it? Who can use it? What’s the value in using it? I thought it would also be helpful to explain some of the things that are happening on the backend that many might not be aware of - and how you, as Cooperative Extension professionals, can take advantage of that with ease! First - who can use it? Anybody in Cooperative Extension can use it. You do not need to be a member of the eXtension...

How To Find the Recordings for Past Events & Search the Learn Calendar Archive

Aaron Weibe ·
Last week, I posted about the Ins & Outs of the Learn Calendar on Connect Extension, the different things that happen behind the scenes when you publish an event to it, and how eXtension helps to market those events for you. Another question I often receive is where can I access the recording of a recent event? The short answer : for eXtension-hosted events, we update the calendar items with the recordings. I typically remove the “Register Here” button and replace it with “Recording...

Too Many Notifications? Not Enough? Here's How to Adjust Your Settings

Aaron Weibe ·
A couple of months ago, I wrote a post on how to adjust your notification settings here in Connect Extension. It occurred to me this week that we have many more users now than when I originally wrote that. So, I thought I would share this information again: You have control over your own settings - how many or how few notifications you wish to receive. You can turn them all off entirely, or pick and choose what you would like to receive based upon content type. You can also customize your...

Re: GET MORE GRATITUDE!

Debra Sweeten ·
This post included some questions to assist with reflection on gratitude. I've never seen these type of questions before in any of the multitude of articles on gratitude that I've seen over the years. I shared this on facebook. I copied it into my calendar, as a recurring appointment each Monday morning, so I can purposefully reflect on gratitude each week throughout the end of the year.
