Rutgers University and the Cancer Institute of New Jersey invite you to participate in their free professional development series focused on cancer prevention and screening.
Community CARES is an in-depth training program that will help you confidently promote evidence-based, community-focused cancer prevention and screening to your patients, clients, and community members. CARES participants will learn about current screening guidelines, how to reduce individual risk of developing breast, cervical (and other HPV-related), colorectal, lung, prostate, and skin cancers, and how to present this information to members of the public to encourage health-promoting action. Participants will receive ready-to-use community presentations, scripts, educational coaching, professional translation, and other resources to deliver cancer education to their communities.
Program sessions will also build foundational knowledge and competency around cancer basics, cancer clinical trials, genetic and familial risk factors for cancer, and LGBTQ competency for professionals.
