What Extension Professionals Say About Teaching Health Insurance

In 2015 the Extension Committee on Policy Health Insurance Literacy action team (ECOP HIL) conducted a survey to assess the current state of health insurance literacy efforts in the Cooperative Extension system. The survey focused on what educators were doing in the field, barriers to implementation, and training needs of educators.

Action team members will report findings from the survey, discuss implications for Extension educators, ask participants for their insights, and share information about resources and upcoming opportunities.

Health Insurance Action Team Members:
Virginia Brown (Chair), University of Maryland Extension
Mary Jo Katras, University of Minnesota
Elizabeth Kiss, Kansas State University
Joan Koonce, University of Georgia
Ken Martin, Ohio State University
Dena Wise, University of Tennessee
