For over 50 years The Cooperative Extension system has developed educational programming to serve highly urbanized communities around topics like economic development, civic engagement, youth development, environmental stewardship, urban agriculture/gardening, food security, health and nutrition. The COVID-19 pandemic has compounded the challenges that cities and Extension services already face while addressing critical urban issues in an increasingly complex and rapidly changing world.
Join members of the National Urban Extension Leaders (NUEL) for a chat as we reimagine the future of Extension in urban areas together, brainstorming ways that Extension can become a more effective and valuable collaborator with the urban communities it serves. Topics discussed will include lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic, challenges and opportunities related to working in urban spaces and communities, measuring impact of Extension programming, and envisioning urban Extension ten years from now.
