Using Virtual Communities to Support Volunteer Retention

MSU Extension is pleased to offer professional development opportunities designed to assist youth development program staff and volunteer administrators in their efforts. Sessions are designed from the youth development perspective; however, all interested participants are welcome.

Volunteers who have strong relationships with staff and other volunteers are more likely to continue volunteering. However, reduced resources and cultural shifts make in-person activities harder to sustain, proving previous relationship-building methods to be more difficult. This webinar describes how an online community supported volunteer relationships for participants who engaged actively through contributing posts as well as more passively through reading posted conversations. This webinar begins at 2 p.m.

Pre-registration for this event is not required; however, it is strongly encouraged. Please consider registering at http://events.anr.msu.edu/VirtualCommunities2013/.
