Paula Gradwell will present the topic of the Thrift Savings Plan for Personal Finance Managers working with military personnel.

This 90-minute web conference will provide: An overview of the Thrift Saving Plan for members of the uniformed services, and information about how this retirement savings plan is similar to 401(k) plans offered to private sector employees and can be incorporated as part of overall retirement planning strategy. The web conference is designed to cover the advantages of participation in the Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) for all uniformed service members, and members of the Ready Reserve or National Guard of the services in any pay status. The focus of this web conference will be on the TSP as one of the retirement sources available to uniformed services members, Traditional and Roth contribution options and their respective tax considerations, investment options, loan program, and in-service and post-service withdrawal options available. Presenter: Paula Austin Gradwell, Thrift Savings Plan Training & Liaison Specialist.
Ms. Gradwell joined the staff of the Federal Retirement Thrift Investment Board in June 2002. Her duties include conducting agency training sessions and employee briefings, and responding to telephone and written inquires from agencies and participants.
She was previously employed with the Department of Defense, the United States Air Force, for 11 years. Her main position was as Personal Financial Management Program Manager.
Ms. Gradwell holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Florida State University and a Master of Education Degree from the University of South Carolina. In addition, she is an Accredited Financial Counselor, a Certified Housing Counselor, a Certified Family Life Educator, and was most recently awarded the designation Retirement Planning Associate (RPA) from the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
