The Ohio Local Government Leadership Academy

Hosted by the Local Government Extension Training (LGET) team this webinar will present an overview of the Ohio Local Government Leadership Academy that has been in use since 2001. The Ohio Local Government Leadership Academy is designed for elected officials from county, municipal, and township governments, and for appointed individuals who serve on local government committees, commissions, boards or task forces. This presentation focuses on development and improvement of leadership and decision making skills of local government officials.

The presenter will be Joseph E. Lucente, Assistant Professor and Extension Educator, Community Development, Ohio State University Extension/Ohio Sea Grant College Program

Attendees will:

- Learn how to build capacity for the local government leadership academy using partnerships developed with chambers of commerce
- Learn unique features of the case study on the Toledo Local Government Leadership Academy
- Receive data on evaluations and examples of the survey instrument from the local academy
- Explore the dimensions and impacts of decision making as it relates to local government
- Discover the benefits of having a mechanism in place to assure public servants possess the knowledge, skills and awareness needed to be an effective leader.
