The Economics of Glyphosate Resistance Management in Corn and Soybean Production

Widespread use of the herbicide glyphosate has led to weed resistance, and recent surveys suggest that the problem is growing. This webinar will summarize the findings of the recent USDA Economic Research Service report The Economics of Glyphosate Resistance Management in Corn and Soybean Production by Michael Livingston, Jorge Fernandez-Cornejo, Jesse Unger, Craig Osteen, David Schimmelpfennig, Timothy Park, and Dayton Lambert. The report examines the spread of resistance to glyphosate in corn and soybeans, the factors that appear to slow the spread of resistance, and the economics of alternative strategies for managing the spread of resistance.
