Pinterest is a relatively new social networking tool that creates social networks around a users "interests". There is certainly a high level of use for personal "pinning" but there is also a potential to use this tool for public outreach and education. This session will focus on how Cooperative Extension (and other outreach and education oriented organizations) can use Pinterest to provide a platform for guiding audiences to meaningful information or resources. How can we use this very social, very visual platform to highlight information that meets the mission of CES? Pinterest has some significant ways to help us serve our clients, to organize and collect scholarly information, and to help serve the public through collective curating
Who should attend? County Extension Agents, eXtension CoP members, Outreach Educators, faculty, staff, and teachers; and anyone who is interested in learning how to pin for education outreach.
