Pesticide Personal Protective Equipment Reductions in Enclosed Cab and Closed Systems

Should a pesticide handler wear personal protective equipment while using an enclosed cab or closed systems? Participants in this seminar will gain a better understand of the laws and relevant standards and their potential limitations related to PPE reductions while using enclosed cabs and closed mixing and loading systems. Federal law allows for some PPE reduction when enclosed cabs and closed systems meeting certain criteria are used. Many states also make this same allowance in their regulations. Regulations and standards, and their potential limitations with regards to best practices, and some exposure data involving enclosed cabs and closed systems will be discussed. Participants in this seminar should be prepared to share their own experiences and perspectives that may help to better inform best practices nationally with regards to PPE reduction in enclosed cabs and closed systems.
