Metaverse Meetup - Tour of the Frontier Project

Any Tuesday afternoon from 3:00- 5:00 PM Eastern, drop by the Virtual State Fair in the Second Life virtual world for a gathering of educators from the land-grant system and beyond. 3:00-3:30 intros, updates and schmoozing, 3:30-4:30 program (tour, speaker or activity), 4:30-5:00 help session for new users.

Today's event: Group visit to the Frontier Project replica in Second Life, a14,000 square foot demonstration building, water-efficient gardens, and rainwater capture system. The purpose of the Frontier Project, located in California, is to educate resident consumers, commercial builders, and sustainable advocates about the latest methods and technologies in water, energy, and site conservation.

About the Extension Foundation

The Extension Foundation was formed in 2006 by Extension Directors and Administrators. Today, the Foundation partners with Cooperative Extension through liaison roles and a formal plan of work with the Extension Committee on Organization and Policy (ECOP) to increase system capacity while providing programmatic services, and helping Extension programs scale and investigate new methods and models for implementing programs. The Foundation provides professional development to Cooperative Extension professionals and offers exclusive services to its members. In 2020 and 2021, the Extension Foundation has awarded 85% of its direct funding back to the Cooperative Extension System, 100% of funds are used to support Cooperative Extension initiatives.
