About This Webinar:

This webinar covers the basics of repaying federal student loans. Topics include types of repayment plans, forgiveness and cancellation programs, benefits of consolidating, getting loans out of default, and types of deferments and forbearances. Also included is a discussion on certain one-time protections like the on-ramp for student loan payments and the Fresh Start Program.

Presenter:

Rachel Gittleman (she/her) is a member of the Stakeholder Engagement Group within the Ombudsman’s Office at Federal Student Aid. She leads State engagement with the state student loan ombudsman, regulators, and attorneys general. She spearheads efforts to identify third party debt relief scams, collaborating with state AGs, the Federal Trade Commission, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and the Federal Communications Commission.

About the Extension Foundation

The Extension Foundation was formed in 2006 by Extension Directors and Administrators. Today, the Foundation partners with Cooperative Extension through liaison roles and a formal plan of work with the Extension Committee on Organization and Policy (ECOP) to increase system capacity while providing programmatic services, and helping Extension programs scale and investigate new methods and models for implementing programs.
