*An introduction to a new Who Gets Grandma’s Yellow Pie Plate? workshop facilitator’s toolkit for educators (published 2015). Learn about up-to-date educator tools, potential target audiences, and effective strategies to make a difference locally.
*Families and inheritance educational experiences: Successes and challenges
Very few families, regardless of shape, size, ethnicity, or socioeconomic status, escape the normative later life distribution of accumulated possessions while older parents are alive or at death. The sheer number of intergenerational families who will be navigating the transfer and distribution of inheritance decisions is expected to grow exponentially with the baby boom generation reaching 65+ years of age, and the oldest old (85+ year olds) as the fastest growing proportion of the population. Unfortunately, few family members are prepared to navigate the challenging and complex intergenerational subject of family inheritance.
Who Gets Grandma’s Yellow Pie Plate? offers research-based educational resources proven to help family members and practitioners working with family members navigate the complexities of possessions and inheritance decisions with positive and constructive outcomes.
This Webinar is for educators and a range of practitioners, including those who:
* Have heard of Who Gets Grandma’s Yellow Pie Plate? but have never really been exposed to the program or the proven educational resources;
* Were trained and delivered programs years ago but need to get up to date on current educator resources and research;
* See connections to other later life issues (caregiving, financial exploitation, land and/or farm transfer and succession programming) and hope to integrate resources;
* Are new to learning about available resources to address later life and intergenerational family decision making issues.
* Offer experience in delivering Who Gets Grandma’s Yellow Pie Plate? workshops and are interested in sharing and keeping up-to-date.
