This 3-day P+CPTED or Placemaking + Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design webinar will teach you placemaking and environmental design tools, strategies and skills that can be implemented in communities to prevent and reduce crime. The P+CPTED program was Michigan State University School of Planning, Design and Construction, National Charrette Institute and Extension. P+CPTED focuses on the relationship between the physical environment and criminal opportunity. It equips Extension professionals and communities to co-develop strategies that promote quality of life characteristics while deterring crime at the same time. This approach is ideal for communities or neighborhoods that have low-trust environments with law enforcements and municipalities with thinly stretched budgets that haven't seen an improvement in crime with increased police presence. Participants will receive a certificate of program completion.
Cost: $495/person or $395 for university or federal employees, students and groups of 4 or more from the same organization.
