About This Webinar:

This session outlines the various school-based changes that may occur over time for students and their families. The transitions between schools, communities, and adulthood all have unique challenges. This session provides strategies to assist with varying transitions and how collaboration is critical throughout the transition for decreased service disruption.

Presenter

Kary Zarate, Ph.D. is a teaching assistant professor in Special Education at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Through her teaching and research, Kary’s work centers on improving educational outcomes for students with significant emotional, behavioral, and cognitive needs through personnel preparation. Kary believes in breaking down barriers for all learners and works diligently to dismantle systems of oppression.

This four-part series focuses on the skills needed by professionals working with military-connected students ages 5-22 and their families to successfully collaborate with one another, engage with families, and leverage military and civilian community resources to support each family and their individual needs. About the Extension Foundation

The Extension Foundation was formed in 2006 by Extension Directors and Administrators. Today, the Foundation partners with Cooperative Extension through liaison roles and a formal plan of work with the Extension Committee on Organization and Policy (ECOP) to increase system capacity while providing programmatic services, and helping Extension programs scale and investigate new methods and models for implementing programs.
