Boost Positivity and Productivity in the Workplace with “Happy Hacks”

Since 2020 our lives have been bombarded with negativity, stress, and countless threats to our emotional well-being, work, and closest relationships. Unfortunately, this negativity sticks in our brain like velcro and easily seeps into both our personal and professional lives. Perhaps there are lessons we can learn as we look back and then move forward in positive ways. Starting with the three needs as a foundation, Dr. Dave uses stories and humor as he provides four principles for becoming better after experiencing the bitter, including some simple science-backed “happy hacks” to boost both our positivity and productivity as well as our mood and attitude at home and at work—starting today.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify three basic human needs and how they relate to positivity and well-being.
  • Review barriers to individual happiness and positivity.
  • Discuss simple happy hacks individuals can use to boost their positivity and productivity at home and at work.
  • Identify tools individuals can use to help improve the lives of those they serve and work with.
  • Increased motivation to put the 8 words for resilience into practice.

About the Extension Foundation

The Extension Foundation was formed in 2006 by Extension Directors and Administrators. Today, the Foundation partners with Cooperative Extension through liaison roles and a formal plan of work with the Extension Committee on Organization and Policy (ECOP) to increase system capacity while providing programmatic services, and helping Extension programs scale and investigate new methods and models for implementing programs.
