Join us as we explore how high-containment biological research facilities actually work! Over the past 13 years the numbers of high-consequence disease research programs have increased steadily. They produce relevant and vital information used to protect ourselves, animals, and the environment. When research is conducted on high-consequence and exotic diseases, safety is imperative.
Scott Rusk, Director of Operations at the Biosecurity Research Institute in Manhattan, Kansas, will discuss architectural and safety features used in facilities that house this crucial research. He will also discuss risk management processes and procedures used to assure biocontainment and maintain the safety of the public, researchers, and our environment.
