ASTC On Air talks with Maker Media founder Dale Dougherty

ASTC On Air is a new series in which we interview fascinating individuals outside the museum field who are doing work that is relevant and interesting to informal science and museum professionals. ASTC is the Association of Science Technology Centers (aka Science museums).

Maker Media is “a global platform for connecting Makers with each other,” and is also the organization behind Make: magazine and the producer of Maker Faire. As founder and executive chairman, Dale Dougherty is an integral part of Maker Media’s content and strategy. We’ll be discussing the maker movement and making in science centers during our ASTC On Air conversation.

This edition of ASTC On Air will be streamed live here at 1:00 p.m. ET on Thursday, July 23. RSVP and submit your questions or topics you’d like us include in the conversation.

About the Extension Foundation

The Extension Foundation was formed in 2006 by Extension Directors and Administrators. Today, the Foundation partners with Cooperative Extension through liaison roles and a formal plan of work with the Extension Committee on Organization and Policy (ECOP) to increase system capacity while providing programmatic services, and helping Extension programs scale and investigate new methods and models for implementing programs. The Foundation provides professional development to Cooperative Extension professionals and offers exclusive services to its members. In 2020 and 2021, the Extension Foundation has awarded 85% of its direct funding back to the Cooperative Extension System, 100% of funds are used to support Cooperative Extension initiatives.

This technology is supported in part by New Technologies for Ag Extension (funding opportunity no.
