National Urban Extension Leaders

Get engaged with NUEL! The National Urban Extension Leaders (NUEL) began in 2013 as a grass-roots effort of a group of passionate and committed urban Extension educators with the mission to advocate and advance the strategic importance and long-term value of urban Extension activities by being relevant locally, responsive statewide, and recognized nationally.

NUEL National Conference Hospitality Suite Host

Dear NUEL Regional Leader,

It’s just a few short months until our NUEL National Conference, May 28-31, 2024, in Nashville, TN. We are excited about connecting with colleagues across the nation under the theme: Rhythm to the Future. We have a chance to add a new experience and enhance our connections through the addition of a hospitality suite. We are proposing regional hosting nights so that we can all better appreciate the diversity of our regions.

This initiative allows each region to showcase its unique culture and creativity. To facilitate this, we propose that regions choose a night during the conference to host an activity of their choice in the hospitality suite. Nothing is set in stone but here are some ideas:

  • Karaoke Night
  • Jenga Championship
  • Line Dancing
  • Solve the Mystery or Scavenger Hunt
  • “Pay It Forward” event*
  • Or any creative, fun activity your region would like to share.

*For the 'Pay It Forward' activity, regions can choose a local charity and encourage attendees to donate essential items such as socks, brushes, combs, etc. which would go to the designated charity.

NUEL Regions would be responsible for sponsoring light snacks and finger foods relevant to their respective region. We believe that this initiative will add a new dimension to the conference, encouraging active participation, cultural exchange, and philanthropy among attendees. It will also provide an excellent platform for networking and bonding among members across the country.

We hope that your Region will consider hosting one night of the hospitality suite. Our committee can assist with arrangements as needed. Please don’t hesitate to reach out for additional information.
