Climate Action Plan

The fight against climate change requires broad mobilization, and Cooperative Extension stands poised to make a difference. How can we mobilize the U.S. Cooperative Extension system to quickly and effectively contribute to climate change solutions? This subgroup dives into how we can harness the strength of our network to swiftly and effectively implement solutions.

Mitigation Matters Research Funds Available

The Natural Hazards Center—with funding support from the Federal Emergency Management Agency and National Science Foundation—is offering our fourth call for Mitigation Matters Research Awards.

This year’s call is focused on mitigation research on one or more of the following topics:

* Community Risk and Disaster Resilience Assessment

* Nature-Based Solutions, Infrastructure, and Resilience

* Building Codes, Standards, and Property Protection

* Community Mitigation Planning

* Capacity Building and Direct Technical Assistance

* Partnership Building and Engaging Communities

Up to 10 awards of $5,000 to $10,000 each will be funded. Proposals are due by 5:00 p.m. MDT on Friday, March 14, 2025.
