Webinar Description
In this webinar, scientists from North Dakota State University (NDSU), Washington State University (WSU), Montana State University (MSU), and the USDA-ARS will present research results and discuss practical considerations related to using hydromulches in horticultural production. Lisa Wasko DeVetter (WSU) will introduce the concept of hydromulching. Benjamin Weiss (WSU) will describe methods for applying hydromulch in strawberry and blueberry. He will also share research results from his hydromulch studies in these crops. Waqas Ahmad (NDSU) will describe methods used for hydromulch application in onion and broccoli and will share the results from his hydromulch research in these crops. Sharon Weyers (USDA-ARS) will describe research about soil health impacts of hydromulching and Suzette Galinato (WSU) will share some insights about the economics of hydromulch use. Project leader Greta Gramig will conclude the webinar by offering some implications of this research for hydromulch use in horticultural production systems, as well as potential future research directions.
The research to be shared by this webinar was funded by the USDA-NIFA program βOrganic Research and Extension Initiative.β Please join us for a fun and informative 45-minute presentation followed by 30 minutes for audience questions.
