Southern Region Webinar - eXtension Update with Doug Steele

Since 2015, eXtension has undergone major changes with a primary focus to increase Extension’s ability to deliver a visible and measurable impact, locally and system wide. This is being accomplished through expanding development opportunities for Extension professionals, increasing Extension-created innovation of new tools and new methods for achieving local impact and ensuring that investments of both time and resources returns a measurable value to member states and the national system. Join our speaker Doug Steele as he shares more about the current priorities and future direction of the new eXtension.

Dr. Doug Steele has served as director of the Texas AgriLife Extension Service since 2012, following a time of service as vice president for external relations and director of Extension at Montana State University. About the Extension Foundation

The Extension Foundation was formed in 2006 by Extension Directors and Administrators. Today, the Foundation partners with Cooperative Extension through liaison roles and a formal plan of work with the Extension Committee on Organization and Policy (ECOP) to increase system capacity while providing programmatic services, and helping Extension programs scale and investigate new methods and models for implementing programs. The Foundation provides professional development to Cooperative Extension professionals and offers exclusive services to its members. In 2020 and 2021, the Extension Foundation has awarded 85% of its direct funding back to the Cooperative Extension System, 100% of funds are used to support Cooperative Extension initiatives.
