Moving Beyond Translation: Integrating Language Access into Program Planning

The webinar will describe the University of Wisconsin - Extension, Cooperative Extension's two year effort to develop proactive processes and a responsive structure that supports programming with people who are Limited English Proficient.  Insights will be shared by facilitators on efforts to identify the "gaps" in existing policies and strategies to move  language access into the overarching conversation about building capacity to reach underserved audiences.  Participants will be engaged to consider and question the organizational policies and language access plans in their institutions and their relationship to program planning and scholarship.
