Join us Thursday, March 12 at 2 p.m. EST for How to Help Military and Veteran Families: For Educators, a webinar aimed to assist early childhood educators, K-12 teachers, and professionals at post-secondary institutions better understand the specific needs of military and veteran families.
Lengthy and recurring deployments, as well as the adjustments associated with returning from them, challenge military members, their children, spouses and other loved ones. Military families routinely face frequent moves, parental absences, and the possibility of injury and bereavement. Together, all of these challenges increase the risk of social, emotional or behavioral problems for children, as well as student service members enrolled in higher education.
The webinar is part of How to Help Military and Veteran Families, an 11-part publication series created by the Military Family Research Institute in collaboration with the Department of Defense, the Department of Agriculture, and the National Military Family Association. The publications provide a wealth of evidence-based information for those seeking to help veterans, service members and their families, while the webinars aim to expand upon these resources. The series is continuing to grow, with new issues due out in 2015.
