Energy Conservation in Livestock and Poultry Operations

Archive available now!

Livestock and poultry production are not cheap ventures. To be sustainable, producers need to conserve energy while still maintaining or improving their facilities and the lives of the animals they house. During this webinar, presenters will discuss ways to improve energy conservation with good ventilation systems and tighter barns. Additionally, we’ll hear about recent research that measured overall energy usage on swine and dairy facilities and the recommendations for improvements.

An application for continuing education credit for Certified Crop Advisors (CCAs) and members of the American Registry of Professional Animal Scientists (ARPAS) will be submitted.

Presenters include:

  • Brad Heins, University of Minnesota
  • Brian Fairchild and Will Strickland, University of Georgia
  • John Chastain, Clemson University

Handouts (PDF format) will be available the day of the webinar at the live webinar information page. Find out more about this webinar and future webinars by the Livestock and Poultry Environmental Learning Community (LPELC).
