This is a free professional development webinar presented by MFLN Community Capacity Building
A key component of community capacity to enhance military family wellness and resilience is familiarity with and access to the cooperative extension system. Though many are somewhat familiar with cooperative extension, most people involved in working with military families are not aware of the significant resources, networks, and expertise residing in this storied long-standing institution. This webinar will provide an in-depth case of collaboration between cooperative extension and family readiness practitioners. Best practices will be described from the standpoint of practitioners, and tools and techniques will be reviewed.
Objectives
- Summarize relationship between community capacity and the cooperative extension system
- Provide concrete examples in testimonial format of collaboration between CES and Military Family Readiness Practitioners
- Discuss in “scenario” format how a military family readiness person can conduct a “first-time” contact or approach to Cooperative Extension
- Provide a road map and checklist for initiating a collaboration between cooperative extension and military family readiness practitioners
