Communicating with the news media: How to work with the industry everybody loves to hate

Media relations is a strategy of working with the news media in order to get out information about an organization’s events and activities in news outlets, local, regional, or national. Developing an effective news media relations plan for your organization can be very beneficial in many ways. In this webinar, University of Florida professor Ricky Telg will detail how to develop a media relations strategy, prepare for news media interviews, evaluate yourself as a spokesperson, and integrate social media in your media relations strategy, all with the overall goal of helping you become a credible and trustworthy source of information for the news media. For more information about media relations, please see Telg’s publication series on media relations at edis.ifas.ufl.edu/topic_media_relations.
