This initiative celebrates local gardens that build community, grow nutritious food, nurture greenspace, and inspire people through the experience of growing from seed to plant. People’s Garden Subgroup Rules of Engagement

  1. Be Kind and Courteous. We're all in this together to create a welcoming environment. Let's treat everyone with respect. Healthy debates are natural, but kindness is required. Bring good intent and assume good intent.
  1. No Hate Speech or Bullying. Make sure everyone feels safe. Bullying of any kind isn't allowed, and degrading comments about things like race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender or identity will not be tolerated.
  1. No Promotions or Spam. Give more than you take to this community. Self-promotion, spam and irrelevant links aren't allowed.
  1. Respect Everyone's Privacy. Being part of this community requires mutual trust. Authentic, expressive discussions make communities great. Please respect everyone’s privacy.
  1. Enforcement of Rules. The People’s Garden subgroup is a space to share resources and have positive discussions on growing healthy food, community, collaboration and education. We will remove posts that are in violation of these Rules of Engagement. 

 

Members can also report any rule violations. If you discover a post/comment that violates the group’s standards, please report it to the admins. Subgroup admins, at their discretion, may remove members from the subgroup that violate the Rules of Engagement. Questions or Need Support? USDA People's Garden Funding

Approximately $1 million in funding is available from the People’s Garden Initiative through USDA’s Office of Urban Agriculture and Innovative Production , in partnership with The National Fish and Wildlife Foundation’s (NFWF) 2025 Five Star and Urban Waters Restoration program.
