Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program

A community for EFNEP administrators and educators to learn and share best practices for program administration and nutrition education for limited resource families.

Staff Development and Training

Staff development and training ensures EFNEP is effective, efficient, and accountable. EFNEP's paraprofessional model succeeds when peer educators have adequate training, support, and supervision. Competencies and training programs for peer educators have been developed to support their success.

Collection of resources to support EFNEP staff in their respective roles:

EFNEP also supports program administrators with New Coordinator Guide, EFNEP Paraprofessional Supervision handbook, and periodic trainings.

The EFNEP Coordinators conference is also a great source of professional development and peer knowledge sharing. Conference archives can found in the Archives resource set (prior to 2018) and on sched.com (2018 - present).

About the Extension Foundation

The Extension Foundation was formed in 2006 by Extension Directors and Administrators. Today, the Foundation partners with Cooperative Extension through liaison roles and a formal plan of work with the Extension Committee on Organization and Policy (ECOP) to increase system capacity while providing programmatic services, and helping Extension programs scale and investigate new methods and models for implementing programs. The Foundation provides professional development to Cooperative Extension professionals and offers exclusive services to its members. In 2020 and 2021, the Extension Foundation has awarded 85% of its direct funding back to the Cooperative Extension System, 100% of funds are used to support Cooperative Extension initiatives.
