Hard Cider in the NC Region: Industry Survey Findings and Opportunities for Rural Development

Hard cider, a beverage rooted in America's past, has reemerged as a potentially fruitful business opportunity for modern day orchardists and entrepreneurs.  As part of a seed grant, researchers at Center for Integrated Agricultural Systems (CIAS) surveyed hard cider makers across the North Central Region to better understand this growing industry.  Questions focused on recent and projected industry trends, sourcing of apples, marketing and distribution approaches, constraints and opportunities within the industry, and research and outreach preferences of cider makers. During this webinar, we will share and discuss survey results.

Presented by: Michelle Miller, Associate Director, Center for Integrated Agricultural Systems, University of Wisconsin and Matt Raboin, Outreach Specialist with the University of Wisconsin Center for Integrated Agricultural Systems.
