Getting Your Wellness Policy Ahead of the Curve

When was the last time you looked at your school district’s local wellness policy? How about the last time you assessed how it compares to best practices recommended for local wellness policies? During this webinar Stephanie Joyce, MS, RD, LD, SNS National Nutrition Advisor- Alliance for a Healthier Generation will offer step- by- step guidance on revising your wellness policy and highlight resources, including the Alliance for a Healthier Generation’s Model Wellness Policy developed by national experts. From revising and updating the wellness policy, to implementation, evaluation and communicating progress—the Alliance’s Healthy Schools Program has tools and resources to not only help your school get ahead of the curve in terms of meeting the proposed Federal regulations, but also meet the Bronze level for the Healthy Schools Award Program.

About the Extension Foundation

The Extension Foundation was formed in 2006 by Extension Directors and Administrators. Today, the Foundation partners with Cooperative Extension through liaison roles and a formal plan of work with the Extension Committee on Organization and Policy (ECOP) to increase system capacity while providing programmatic services, and helping Extension programs scale and investigate new methods and models for implementing programs. The Foundation provides professional development to Cooperative Extension professionals and offers exclusive services to its members.
